The Leducq Foundation has recognized Rheumatic Heart Disease as an ongoing unmet medical need that affects a large number of people globally. We are committed to supporting research and translation in order to reduce the impact of this disease. Our efforts are currently focused on three areas:
- Identification of a Biomarker of Acute Rheumatic Fever
- Development of a Group A Strep Vaccine
- Development of a polymeric heart valve to treat patients with advanced rheumatic heart disease
